WHO WE ARE

Legends Football Camp and JC Youth Foundation meet

Legends Football Camp was founded in 2019.  Co-founder Jeff Chadwick, a former wide receiver with 10-years in the NFL and co-founder Kristen Blackburn wanted to utilize his (Jeff) resources to help youth athletes get on-the-field guidance from NFL players.

JC Youth Foundation was established in 2023 and is proud to be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  The biggest fundraiser for the foundation is the Legends Football Camp.  2023 was the 3rd annual camp held in Clare, MI.  Information about the camp can be found at jeffchadwick.sportsengine-prelive.com .

The foundation is more than just a football camp, the foundation is committed to holding, or collaborating with other, fundraising opportunities. Those opportunities are to help the children in our communities. Our mission is to assist & encourage our youth through education, athletics and support.

Jeff Chadwick says, “Looking back on my football career, I recognized the importance of the many coaches that influenced me in my early years. Without them I would probably not have made it to the highest level. Therefore, in order to “pay it forward,” I have compiled some of Michigan’s (and NFL’s) best to share their knowledge and inspire our youth at the Legends Football Camp.”

Meet the President Jeff Chadwick

In the words of Jeff Chadwick: ” I grew up in Dearborn Heights, MI. I attended Dearborn Divine Child from K1-12. I was a dual sport athlete focused on football and track & field upon graduation. I enrolled at Grand Valley State University. GVSU offered me a partial athletic scholarship to play football and run track. While at Grand Valley, I studied business marketing and earned a degree in 1986. I was offered a free agent contract by the Detroit Lions which I proudly accepted.

After 3 months of extensive physical training and preparation for training camp, I tried out for the Lions. I made the 53 man roster and helped the team to a 9-7 record and a playoff appearance. I made the NFC All Rookie team as the only undrafted free agent.

After retirement from football I always wanted to have a football camp. In 2019 I had that opportunity with the help of co-founder of Legends Football Camp & JC Youth Foundation, Kristen Blackburn. The camp grew into a youth foundation, JC Youth Foundation 501(c)3. The foundation came to life in 2023. We are eager to find ways to give back to our communities and to inspire our youth.”
